Swipes & ratings
A quick way to tell Taste what feels right to you.
Train your eye into a useful signal
Swiping gives Taste a direct preference signal without needing to upload or organize a reference first. Rate the design in front of you honestly. You can appreciate the craft and still decide it is not your style.
Three ways to react
Open Rate and look at the design before reacting. Swipe the card or use the labeled buttons. On the web, the arrow keys follow the same directions.
- Swipe right → I love it. This is a design you are drawn to.
- Swipe up → It’s OK. It is acceptable, but not something you strongly love. This records a rating; it is not a skip.
- Swipe left → Not for me. This helps Taste understand what you would rather avoid.
Changed your mind?
Use Undo to take back the last rating; on the web you can also press Z. Open your rating history to revisit past reactions.
A rating communicates preference. Saving a reference keeps it for later, and adding it to a collection gives it a project purpose. Use the save control when you want to build with a design rather than relying on your reaction alone.
How swipes shape your profile
Your reactions can contribute to your generated Taste Profile. The current reaction-based readiness rule is twenty ratings, including at least three positive and three negative reactions. You can also qualify through reference signals.
Reaching that threshold does not mean every future swipe instantly rewrites your profile. Open Taste Profile to check generation and refresh availability. Keep rating honestly rather than choosing reactions just to reach a threshold.
What success looks like
You know what each gesture means, can revisit your reactions, and can check when your profile is ready to generate.
