Tell your AI what you saw in a design.
Make the reason visible
A screenshot might have beautiful typography and the wrong navigation. Without your explanation, an agent has to guess which parts you meant. Notes give it reference-specific direction; they do not automatically make every detail a permanent global preference.
Add a note
- Open an image reference and choose Annotate for a general note, or click a detail to place a pin.
- Write what matters in the floating card, then choose Save annotation. Drag its title to move it out of the way. Your private notes appear in the Annotations list.
- Select a note and choose Edit to revise its text or pin. Save changes updates the existing note; Cancel keeps the saved version.
- For a video, capture a moment or select a range. You can edit its start/end times later using the blue handles or time fields. On mobile, Adjust on timeline and Place pin temporarily hide the card while you choose a time or position; your draft is preserved.
Write the part you would say out loud
“I like this” is a reaction. “The navigation stays quiet so the article is easy to scan. Keep that hierarchy, but use our typography” gives someone a decision they can act on.
I like how this page keeps the navigation quiet and gives the article room to breathe. Borrow the hierarchy and spacing, not Family’s branding.
Ask the agent to read, then interpret
Ask for the available annotations alongside the images. A pin identifies a point of interest, not a precise crop or component boundary. Coordinates are relative to the reference, not the page. Motion notes also carry a timestamp, optional range end, and recording version. Ask the agent to reread notes after you edit them; previously loaded context does not refresh itself. If the agent cannot inspect the image, it should say so instead of pretending to have seen the detail.
Read my notes on the references in this collection. For each relevant note, explain one decision it suggests for this project. Keep existing project rules and components. Do not paste a reference screenshot into the UI as a substitute for implementing it.
Your notes and their audience
The web editor describes these as your private design notes. Authorized personal MCP context can include them. Creator sharing has separate settings for creator notes; check those settings before publishing a rental listing.
What success looks like
The agent can repeat the intent of a saved note and use it without copying unrelated details.
