Plans and usage
Use Pricing for the current plan comparison and Account for your actual allowance and renewal details. Upload analysis and new collection brief generation can use AI allowance. MCP reads have their own usage limits; connecting successfully does not imply unlimited use.
Unchanged cached collection briefs can be reused without another generation credit. If you hit a limit, read the returned message and check the relevant allowance before retrying.
“Taste is configured, but my agent cannot see it”
Check the client’s server status. Authentication errors need sign-in; startup or transport errors need a different fix. Restart or refresh tool discovery after completing setup, then run the collection-list verification. In Codex CLI, use codex mcp login taste when authentication is needed.
A local Taste skill file can make an agent sound informed even without a live connection. Ask it explicitly to use MCP and report the error rather than substitute that file.
Check account connection controls
Open AI connections to review connected apps or disconnect a client. If the page reports that cloud sync is off, follow the page’s guidance to enable it in the Mac app or by signing in from an AI tool before expecting MCP to read your profile. If MCP access is disabled, review that account setting before trying to create another connection.
Disconnecting a client and canceling a paid creator rental are separate actions. Review rented access separately when that is what you want to stop.
“My collection or annotations are missing”
Confirm the Taste account used during authorization. Ask the agent to list collections before searching by name. Use the exact collection link to resolve ambiguity. Reopen the reference in Taste to confirm that your note was saved.
If the connected server cannot return annotations or the client cannot inspect images, have the agent state that limitation. Do not accept a description of an unseen screenshot as verification.
“My profile does not reflect a new save”
Open Taste Profile and check the generated profile and refresh controls. Live MCP reads the current stored profile; it does not mean each new save instantly regenerates the summary. After regeneration, ask the agent to fetch it again. Local skill exports are separate snapshots.
“An upload did not finish”
Check the file type, size feedback, and remaining allowance in the upload flow. Try a supported image format and a smaller batch. Keep the original files until the completed designs are visible. An upload that is still processing is not a usable reference yet.
A few useful distinctions
Does connecting Codex connect ChatGPT web? No. They require separate connections.
Does choosing a collection hide my other content from the agent? No. It focuses the task without changing permissions.
Does the agent always see reference images? No. Image retrieval and display depend on the client; ask it to confirm.
Can I remove a client’s access? Yes. Use Account → AI connections → Disconnect.
Where should I start if I have no profile? Save a few useful references and build with a focused collection. A generated profile is not a prerequisite for explaining the direction you want.
Choose what you hear from Taste
Open Email & notifications to control optional product tips, social notifications, and announcements or offers. Browser push settings are managed there too.
Security, sign-in, and essential payment notices are separate from optional emails. Changing notifications does not cancel a subscription.
